Borderland State Park | Backyard Wedding | Jess & Nick

Jess contacted me to be her wedding photographer when Nick proposed. Rob and I were trying at the time to become pregnant and I wasn’t sure if I would be able to travel to Killington, Vermont for their date. Jess and I had worked together at Dennis East International for a few years after college and I was crushed that I wasn’t going to be able to make it to her wedding. Then a few months ago after everything with Covid started to happen, Jess and Nick decided to have a small intimate ceremony in Jess’s parents backyard in MA. So in the end I was able to be their photographer!!!

Jess and Nick met at game night at a friends house. They all played an exciting game of online Jeopardy and were on opposing teams. But it wasn’t until December, at their friend’s annual Yule ball party, that they realized this was something more!

I remember when Jess stated dating Nick and how happy she was. Jess is such a fun, silly, easy going person and Nick is her perfect match. They love being with friends and will do anything for a good laugh.

Nick surprised Jess with a trip to New Hampshire in October of 2018. They took a trip to the top of Loon mountain. When they got to the top of the mountain it started to gently snow. Nick asked a man close by if he could take there photo and then dropped to one knee! Jess yelled in excitement! Nick had just made her the happiest girl on earth!

For their wedding day they shared a sweet first look at Borederland State Park in Easton MA. Not too far from Jess’s parents house were they had their intimate ceremony and reception. Their day was filled with beautiful bright colors and lots of love. I don’t think there was a dry eye during there vows. It was so sweet being part of an old friends big day and with Jess being a designer you know all the details were on point! She made paper flowers for the bouquets and boutonnieres, designed their invites and all the signage herself and even went down to a local farm the morning of her big day and picked out wildflowers for the reception center pieces. Everything was flawless and I would have expected nothing less from Jess!

Thank you so much for letting me be part of your stunning wedding day Jess and Nick. It was so much fun to see you guys and to capture your intimate day. Not going to lie I cried a few times throughout the ceremony and reception but would you expect anything less from this ball of mush!

Love, Ali
